What is ?
Little Bridge is a 6-level English course with a wealth of components consisting of amazing 3D software with well structured interactive language activities, pupils' activity books, teachers' guides and digital resources packages as well as fantastic print and digital readers.
Inspiring, motivating and challenging, Little Bridge is an amazing resource for teachers and a wonderful learning experience for young learners of English tailored to the Cambridge Young Learners Tests and the CEF. Little Bridge puts interactive content at the heart of the learning process offering success for children in English and can be used both in class and at home.
By subscribing to the course students become members of the imaginary 3-dimensional English speaking town of Little Bridge. They visit the town using their unique password. They create their own digipal character - so it looks like them - and they create and personalise their own room in Little Bridge. Now that students have their own "digipal" character, they can walk around and explore the town, they learn new vocabulary and they make new friends, other digipals from around the world.

Each school using Little Bridge can create and personalise its own Little Bridge home page through the Learning Management System (LMS) that the school gets for FREE when subscribing its students to Little Bridge. When logging in Little Bridge, students are redirected to their school's Little Bridge homepage where they will see their school logo, welcome message and photos. On this homepage, there is also a virtual message board where teachers can leave messages for their students, assign homework etc.
Using the LMS, teachers have full control over their students' progress with the Activities. As student's scores are automatically saved within each student's record in the LMS, teachers can anytime check their students progress and they can even print individual students or class progress reports.
Teachers always have control over the accessibility of activities from students as those can be locked or unlocked through the LMS.
All digital resources such as audio, photocopiable activities, digital flashcards and even teacher's notes are available to download from the LMS.
Students can visit the School in Little Bridge where they will be asked to complete activities based on their level. There are 64 different well structured activities per level in Little Bridge and within each level none are the same so students' interest is alway kept high. Students can practice speaking anr record their own voices, listen to songs and sing along or play word games.
Students can also visit the Grammar Factory where thay are exposed to grammar presentation in an unprecedented interactive way. Grammar was never so much fun as with the Grammar Factory.
Students can also visit the Community Hall. All digipals meet in the Community Hall. Students can make new friends and practice their English using the ‘Digipals around the world’ feature to talk to children, other DigiPals from around the world. Of course this site is fully moderated as online safety has the highest priority. Students can improvise writing their own messages and posting their questions to other members of the community or their classmates or they can use the "sentence maker" to help them.
Students can also visit the town's castle and play games! For every two units' activities they complete a new game is unlocked for them as a reward!
Finally, students can adopt their virtual pet, Domino the dog! They must take care of the puppy, feed him, teach him tricks, take him for walks and bring him to dog competitions!
What can students do in ?
An award-winning author of over forty books for children, Paul Rogers, author of Little Bridge series is a talented and experienced linguist and has been both a primary and secondary teacher, as well as a lecturer in Education (at Goldsmiths College, University of London). He is a great advocate for the use of iCT in language learning.
